Jordana Brewster isn’t taking sides in the feud between her Fast & Furious costars, Dwayne Johnson and Tyrese Gibson.
The two actors have been in a public feud since news broke last month that a spin-off movie based on Johnson’s character Luke Hobbs was in the works. Tyrese urged Johnson to walk away from the spin-off. The R&B singer even took to Instagram to accuse Johnson of delaying the release of another Fast & Furious installment to make the franchise about himself.
Universal has confirmed a separate movie starring Johnson is in the works. The spin-off, slated for a 2019 release will also star Jason Statham, another Fast & Furious costar who has played Deckard Shaw since 2013.
A nine installment of the Fast & Furious is set to hit theaters in 2020. Vin Diesel, Tyrese and Lucas Black are already on board to star.
Brewster, who last appeared in the seventh installment in 2015 and played late actor Paul Walker’s onscreen girlfriend, Mia Toretto, revealed she has been following the drama on social media. “I mean, I’m following it on Instagram, too,” she told Us Weekly. “I think ultimately we’re all a family, we all love working together. So hopefully it’s all going to be O.K. in the end, but I’m watching like everybody else.”
