Being Mary Jane ending its BET run in 2018

Being Mary Jane is prepping to come to an end in 2018 with a series finale movie.

The BET series will wrap up its four-season run with a two-hour television movie. The show starring Gabrielle Union as the successful TV news anchor Mary Jane Paul, and co-stars Lisa Vidal, Richard Roundtree and Margaret Avery, recently wrapped up its Season 4 in September.

During its run, the show has undergone a series of behind the scenes staff changes. Husband and wife team, Salim and Mara Brock jumped ship after Season 3 for a deal at Warner Bros. TV, and Erica Shelton Kodish recently left for an overall deal at CBS TV Studios.

The highly-rated series, started as a TV movie for the BET network, drawing 4 million viewers for its July 2013 series premier. The BET show premiered the following January for a full season run. Union is slated to return for the series finale, but additional details regarding the series wrap up remain unclear.
