A healthy diet is important when maintaining good health. But do you know certain foods in your diet can cause inflammation?

Inflammation is the body’s response to infection or injury, and it’s important to reduce inflammation because overtime inflammation can cause cell damage increasing your risk for diseases like cancer and heart disease.

MD Anderson Cancer Center shared a list of foods to avoid if you’re trying to manage inflammation. Foods that increase inflammation include – red meats, trans fats, Omega 6 fats, saturated fats, and carbohydrates. Foods that reduce inflammation include – Prebiotic foods or foods that promote the growth of good bacteria in the gut, Probiotic foods, Omega 3 fats and Vitamins C & E.
